In 2011, the directors of Regent Samsic were weighing up ambitious plans for the growth of their multi-service FM business, but were concerned to underpin their plans for increased sales with a more robust approach to margin control. Following a review of the market they licensed TemplaCMS to manage their business and the intervening years have seen Regent gradually add more and more Templa modules to the point where they are using virtually the entire system.
Regent wanted every department of their company to benefit from the software and were particularly keen to secure buy-in from their operations team. Their method of achieving this was ingenious. They used Templa’s granular reporting capability to make detailed information available to their area managers about the margin achieved each month on each income stream at each contract. In return, managers were given increased accountability for managing their margin against budget – a classic motivational strategy.
